A Spacious Apart-hotel in Kyoto - Good for Families & Larger Groups

Randomly one trip to Kyoto, I decided to extend a couple extra nights (as I sometimes do) and discovered this sweet apart-hotel in Shijo area (another area I frequent a lot and roughly 8mins from Karasuma station). So decided to give it a go and thought it was quite charming.

The rooms available at Wayfarer venture from classic tatami Japanese style rooms, to classic doubles (perfect for couples) to larger family rooms and suites which are spacious and just perfect for groups of travellers, young families etc. One thing to note is that these larger style suites, do not have separate bedrooms, so one would be sharing one huge space essentially. If you prefer separate bedrooms, then take a look at Mimaru Suites Kyoto Shijo.

The Signature Family Suite

I managed to randomly book the “signature family suite” for my extended trip (it was a random week night in off peak season when I was in Kyoto). Loved the modern Japanese design & interiors, perfect for me as I was travelling out and about. Particularly loved about this suite, that there was some minor separation of the beds.

Two fluffy futons in the main area (maybe good for parents) then separated by a wooden lattice shoji door, a room with 3 futons - so possible space for ~ 5 guests. However as you can tell in the photos, it’s not separate privacy. See below my photos so you can get an idea.
