15+ YEARS OF A LESSER KNOWN JAPAN

an intimate, detailed account of a multitude of travels exploring a lesser known Japan, with an occasional foray into the popular. With over 15 years of living in Japan, all 47 prefectures were finally completed in early 2025, with multiple visits to numerous prefectures, to discover and traverse a path less travelled across the years.

Hours spent carefully researching, meticulously planning personal travels, working with various tourism boards and local communities, falling in love with the world of onsen. This independent website-zine blog is for those who want to discover the real Japan, who want to travel the further flung, who appreciate a slower pace of travel, who love good food & who wish to experience the relaxing world of Japan’s onsen ryokan.  The adventures shared here have all been personally experienced by me and are my own personal reflections. More about my story can be found here
